✍🏻 Blog Tour & Excerpt: CD Reiss’s Crowne Rules ✍🏻

“Dante Crowne will ruin you for filthy hot alphas who just need a little love. Call me, Dante. Call me.”
–Jana Aston, New York Times Bestselling Author

Crowne Rules, an all-new sizzling hot forced proximity standalone from New York Times bestselling author C.D. Reiss is available now!

Read my 5 ⭐️ review HERE.

What happens when fire and ice are forced into close proximity?

With the paparazzi hot on her heels, Mandy Bettencourt is desperate for somewhere to hide, and her best friend has just the place.

It’s perfect. No Internet. No phone. A deep bathtub she’s soaking in when HE shows up.
Her best friend’s brother, Dante Crowne. Rich as a cardinal sin and handsome enough to piss off the devil. A man with a reputation for unforgettable bedroom games.

Mandy got an early taste of them in high school–for seven minutes in a closet. She can tell you, the rumors are all true.

Dante knows he’s got a reputation for a lot of things, including a love of solitude.
But there’s a beautiful socialite in his bathtub, and the memory of those seven minutes isn’t inspiring him to kick her out.
So he offers her a deal.
If she wants to stay, she has to work.
If she makes a mistake, she’s corrected with pink hand marks on her backside.

That’s the deal.
Beg for it or leave it.

He’s surprised when she gets on her knees, and he’s even more surprised when she likes the punishment.
The most shocking thing, though, is how much he’s starting to like her.

They can’t stay in paradise forever.
Los Angeles awaits.
But an old nemesis sets his sights on tearing them apart, and Dante may be the one left begging.

**Crowne Rules is a complete STANDALONE. You don’t have to read any of the Crowne Brothers books to pick this up, but you might want to once you’re done with Dante.**

Excerpt

As I scraped the last of the ice cream out of the corners, lightning flashed.
Looking up, I noticed steam curling out of the bathroom door.
One Samanda.
Two Samanda.
Three—
Thunder cracked, and the water heater had probably done its job by now.
When the water was so hot I could barely touch it, I plugged the tub and rooted around under the sink, finding a box of squat, white candles and a lighter and a red satin bag of bath bombs. I lit the candles and tossed a couple of bombs into the water, then threw in another for good measure.
When the waterline was near the top, I shut off the faucet.
My phone had been completely useless for miles already, and if there was Wi-Fi in the house, it was off, but I could still play music. I threw together a playlist of songs with a “fuck him” theme, put headphones on, and settled in, letting the line of scalding heat envelop me to the neck.
Arms floating, I let the music take me away, singing along with a song about heartbreak and renewal, unable to hear my voice as much as feel it against the sobbing soreness of my throat.
He broke my heart
When I was so nice
Forget that asshole
I mean it, girl
Forget him twice
I belted it out not to the bathroom tiles, but to the Renaldo in my mind. He was begging to have me back, and I was toying with him, asking, “Why?” Why did he promise to leave his wife only to humiliate me? Turn me into an object of public disdain only to get on his hands and knees and literally kiss my feet?
Not just him, but Caleb, who’d treated me like trash for years, and every guy after him who dumped me and then strung me along so they could dump me again.
In my fantasy, I was telling them about all the other guys I was fucking and how little I cared about any of them. I was walking away from some faceless stud, sated and satisfied and totally unattached. I was never, ever going to get hurt again, and every time I started to cry again, I sang louder.
“No, no, no-no!” I chanted with the music, waving my finger at my imaginary lover. “You ain’t that…”
The lights went out, and I practically leapt out of the tub in shock, sliding my headphones away from one ear. A moment later, I realized what must have happened, and surprise turned to exasperation. Because, of course, this goddamn house couldn’t stand a thunderst—
“Hello?” A man’s voice came from the darkened doorway.
In a crouch, dripping wet, with female empowerment in one ear and his question in the other, I grabbed something, anything, in the dark and came up with a shampoo bottle.
“I know tae kwon do,” I said in the general direction of the voice, standing up to wield the plastic bottle.
“I’m sure.” The lights went back on with a click, and I could see the source of the voice.
Fuck.
Dante Crowne. Gray raincoat glinting with droplets of water, finger on the light switch, looking down at me from the top of Mount Six Foot Four. All the Crowne men had light eyes, but Dante’s were deeper set and the iciest blue I’d ever seen.
“Hello, Amanda.”
“It’s Mandy,” I said, pulling the headphones around my neck and lowering the shampoo.
His gaze followed the poorly chosen weapon and took a circuitous route back upward by way of the naked triangle between my legs, my belly, my breasts. When his eyes landed on mine, there was desire there, but I could tell by the way he tightened his mouth that it was an easily dismissed interloper and not something he wanted to act on.
“Logan said you’d be here,” he said.
He wasn’t going to apologize for scaring me half to death and then checking me out without even admiring the view?
“Well, he didn’t warn me about you,” I said.
Lightning flickered, and I held my reply for the whipcrack of thunder one Samanda later.
“Clearly,” Dante scoffed, looking my nudity over again.
I turned for the towel, catching sight of myself in the mirror. I was splotched in patches of bubble. South America drifted down my hip.
Dante grabbed the towel and handed it to me, eyes respectfully averted. I took it slowly, daring him to look again, and he took me up on the challenge, letting his gaze fall all over my body like a steamer pushed under a dress to relax the creases in every corner.
“Logan sends his apologies, but this house is mine,” Dante said as I wrapped the white towel around myself. “And I need to use it this weekend.”
“Your brother said it was a family house.”
“Hm.”
After the one syllable, he turned and left me alone in what was apparently his bathroom.

About CD Reiss
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

The Chasing of Eleanor Vane – Sierra Simone
Ajax Dartham, the Duke of Jarrell, has a problem. And that problem is his future niece-in-law. ✍🏻 Professor Romance’s 5 ⭐️ Review: Rebecca Yarros’s Muses & Melodies, book 3 of the Hush Note series ✍🏻

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“You naive little fool. He’d replaced one addiction for another. I’d become his fix.”

I was hoping. I had faith that Rebecca Yarros would craft a story that would slay our hearts as her portion of the Hush Note series. And this book did not disappoint in the least. With very strong showings from Sarina Bowen’s Lies & Lullabies along with Devney Perry’s Riffs & Refrains, Yarros had a tall order to fill. And fill it she did.

I am a personal fan of the hate-to-love romance trope. It’s my favorite. For me, it builds tension and chemistry in a way that other traditional romantic tropes struggle to develop. From the start of this book, Yarros shows us that her hero, Nixon, and her heroine, Zoe “Shannon” have the makings of combustible chemistry. Every turn of the page lights a deeper fire. There are moments in this story that are brilliant in their elaboration of Zoe and Nixon’s chemistry. It’s palpable and visceral, and you know that the chemistry will burn them up and potentially derail them. When you read a story like that, you can’t help but be drawn into it. Yarros deftly leads us through it, showing her readers her capacity for drawing out her characters’ chemistry through to the end. I was rooting hard for Nixon and Zoe even when her hero was sabotaging a potential future.

Out of the three Hush Notes bandmates, I knew Nixon would be my favorite. Just as I’m a sucker for the hate-to-love romance trope, I am also a huge fan of a broken hero. Yarros illustrates the gravity of addiction and past trauma in Nixon’s depiction. This man makes you pine for his secrets. And carefully, Yarros makes you wait for it. Oftentimes, there are romance writers who reveal a character’s secrets too early. Not Rebecca Yarros. She builds your curiosity to almost a fever pitch that its revelation feels monumental. It’s ugly and horrible. However, it’s aftermath is the part of the story that slays you. Yarros’s brilliant development of Nixon’s character is the emotional conduit for this story. She breaks your heart over his story and his pain.

Because Nixon’s portrayal is the juggernaut for the emotional upheaval of this story, Yarros is careful in drawing a heroine who has the capacity to shoulder the depth and breadth of Nixon. With just a little spoiler, other than a past ex and a hunger for her career, Zoe Shannon is stalwart. Yarros needs her heroine to be so because her hero requires it. These two are the yin and yang to each other, and that is the kindling for their chemistry. I loved buttoned-up, fierce womanhood Zoe. She balances moody, inconsistent Nixon, which makes for a deliciously emotional, sensual romance.

I don’t want to say that Bowen, Perry, and Yarros saved the best for last. I adored Jonah and Kira and Quinn and Graham. Yet, it’s the sharp-edged Nixon coupled with the tenacious Zoe that won my heart. Their story is the one that romance dreams are made of, and Rebecca Yarros takes this delicious trope with these edible characters, and she has concocted a romance in Muses & Melodies that satiates your cravings for a forever kind of love. The epilogue for this book is quite glorious.

In love and romance,

Professor A

The Sebastians own this city.

Hell, they own the whole world.

All I want is one little piece of it, a corner that I can call my own.

So when my boss runs away to “find herself”, I seize the opportunity and dive head first into the Sebastian’s glamorous universe. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted—fast paced and high stakes—and, even though I don’t fit in, I’m excellent at faking it.

Until I come face to face with the man in charge, Scott Sebastian, the arrogant, playboy heir with the mind of a devil and the body of a god and a mouth I can’t stop thinking about.

He’s infuriating. He’s a distraction. He’s the man who wants me in his bed as much as I want to be there.

And, if I get too close, he’ll be the one person who could expose me for what I really am—a fraud.

✍🏻 Are you like me and you’ve been waiting for Sarina Bowen’s the next The Company book? Well, I have the cover FOR YOU! Check out Loverboy! ✍🏻

It’s TIME for the cover reveal for Sarina Bowen’s Loverboy, The Company Book Two.

BLURB

Secrets, desires, and exquisite pie. It’s all in a day’s work at The Company.

Growing up, I was the rough guy from the wrong neighborhood who couldn’t catch a break. Posy was the pampered girl I tried to impress. But I managed to steal only a single kiss before I had to skip town.

Now I’m back, and the tables are turned. Posy runs a struggling pie shop. I’m the VP of a secretive billion-dollar security company.

Not that I can tell her.

There’s a murderer on the loose in New York, and he seems to spend a lot of time at Posy’s shop. I can’t let on that I’m here to bring him down before he can harm a hair on her pretty head.

Going undercover as Posy’s new barista wasn’t my idea. I don’t even drink coffee. But now I have to call her “boss,” and do everything the curvy perfectionist asks of me. I’d forgotten how much we infuriate each other, and that she somehow fills me with both irritation and desire in the same breath.

There’s nobody more skilled at stealth ops than me. I can bring this killer down. Right after I take a cold shower. And just as soon I as wefigure out how to make a skinny peppermint latte with milk poured in the shape of a kitten…

She took one step before stopping. A smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, the same corner I’d kissed earlier, and I fought the urge to stand and capture that mouth again. Her smile broadened, though there was pain in her eyes.

“Colin is a cool kid. You’re a good dad, Graham. I always knew you would be.”

She might as well have stabbed me in the chest.

“Thanks,” I said, watching as she walked away.

Fuck me.

When had I never loved that woman?

Maybe that kiss had woken me up. Maybe it had made me realize how goddamn lonely I’d been without her. I had Colin, but there was a corner of my heart that would always belong to Quinn.

I should have followed her nine years ago.

Because now it was too late.

✍🏻 Blog Tour & Excerpt: Kristen Proby’s Imagine with Me ✍🏻

Imagine With Me by Kristen Proby is now live!

From New York Times Bestselling author Kristen Proby, comes an all new novel in her beloved With Me In Seattle series!

Shawn O’Callaghan loves his job as a screenwriter almost as much as he loves his family. But this latest project could quite possibly test his patience beyond anything he’s ever had to endure. Generally unflappable, the author he’s thrown into the trenches with pushes every button he has. Sometimes twice. And it doesn’t help that he can’t stop thinking about her in ways that are anything but professional. But how can he help it? The brunette is gorgeous beyond reason–and utterly infuriating.

Bestselling author Lexi Perry is finally about to leave her mark on the world; after all, seeing her dark and dangerous words brought to life is a dream come true. Until she meets the man who is supposed to make that happen. From the minute they laid eyes on each other, it was clear there would be tension, but she had no idea how much until they got down to business. He obviously doesn’t understand her vision. Though she’s having trouble lately too, given all she can picture is what he looks like under his clothes and imagining what it would sound like if he talked dirty to her in that sexy Irish lilt of his.
If they can find a way to meet in the middle, this movie could be one for the ages. As could their love.

Excerpt

“What do you do, Lexi?”

“I’m a writer.”

Archer lifts a brow and turns to the man next to him. “Oh? Shawn’s also a writer. What do you write?”

“Novels,” I say and turn to the screenwriter, but he holds up a hand, stopping me.

“I’m not here to entertain any new projects tonight,” Shawn says, immediately cutting me off.

He thinks I’m trying to network with him? To get him to read something I’ve written and further my career?

Well, screw him.

My face goes from friendly to cold in a heartbeat. Luke sighs.

This is a fantastic way to start this working relationship.

“That’s convenient,” I say, ice dripping from every damn word. “I’m not here to pitch a project to you, Mr. O’Callaghan. I know who you are, but it’s not terribly important to me. I do fine all on my own. Have a good night, gentlemen.”

I give a curt nod and turn away, my heels clicking on the hardwood floor as I make a hasty retreat.

I want to get out of here.

The audacity! What a jerk. I was already nervous about being here. Now, I get the disappointment of knowing I have to work with a conceited ass who’s clearly completely full of himself.

“Lexi.”

 I don’t turn around.

“Lexi.”

A hand lightly latches on to my elbow, and I turn to find Shawn staring down at me, his mouth set in a grim line.

“I owe you an apology. I didn’t know you were Nora, the author I’ll be working with over the next few weeks.”

“If you’d known, you would have been polite?”

He winces. “Again, I apologize. It’s been a shit day, and I was trying to avoid work talk. Not my finest moment.”

“No.” I glance down at the elbow he’s still holding hostage. He lets go. “It wasn’t. Have a good evening, Mr. O’Callaghan. I’ll see you on Monday.”

“Lexi—”

But I don’t turn back. I know I’ll have cooled down by the time I see Shawn again. I won’t be embarrassed. My feet won’t be killing me.

For now, I want to hide.

I’m so far out of my comfort zone, I couldn’t find it with a map.

✍🏻 Professor Romance’s 5 ⭐️ Review: J.T. Geissinger’s Cruel Paradise ✍🏻

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“‘It’s not inexplicable. I like you the way Newton liked gravity.’

‘I don’t know what you mean.’

‘Once he found it, everything else in the universe made sense.'”

Oh, J.T. Geissinger, you got me again. I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Liam Black’s broodiness in Beautifully Cruel. Tru and Liam were so magical in their travails towards love. But you did it. You made me love his brother even more. Unlike Beautifully Cruel, Killian Black in Cruel Paradise is equal parts humor and swoon. His tenacity and persistence in pursuing Juliet and loving her is both surprising and not. You wrote such beautiful words for him as he woos her. Yet, you made me laugh and cry too. Similarly, Juliet is strength personified. Her ability to overcome is key and important to this story, and you made me LOVE their journey.

I think most insightful to this story is the idea of the past. While Juliet and Killian’s story is titillating and spell-binding, it’s really the idea that our past doesn’t define us. It helps mold us, but our present and future allow us the choice to live in the shadow of our past or choose our own definition for our future. That message is important because we could all feel trapped in our DNA, and sometimes that occurs, specifically with health issues. But our parents’ choices don’t have to be perpetuated in our own. Instead, we are wholly our own beings, and this book illustrates that beautifully.

Over and over again, J.T. Geissinger reminds me why I’ve fallen fast for her romances. There is a lilt, a wisdom, a flow, and a power in her storytelling. Cruel Paradise is a perfect exemplification of Geissinger’s craftsmanship. If you have yet to read Beautifully Cruel, grab it now and one-click it’s partner Cruel Paradise. There are hours of suspenseful, insightful, and romantic prose in Geissinger’s pages, and you will adore Liam and Tru and Killian and Juliet immensely.

In love and romance,
