The all new standalone in the Dating series by New York Times Bestselling author Monica Murphy is LIVE!
Eleanor Murray is tired.
Tired of going on awkward dates. Tired of meeting men who just arenβt that into her. Tired of being set up on blind dates by her well-meaning friends.
She is a believer of true love, of finding that happily ever after, and she wants it. She deserves it. But at the rate sheβs going, sheβs pretty sure itβs never going to happen.
Until a friend creates a profile for Eleanor on a new dating app. At first, sheβs reluctant. Dating apps arenβt the way to finding true love, are they? But then she makes a connection on Rate a Date, and this gorgeous, confident guy almost seems too good to be trueβ¦
Mitch Anderson has a secret.
Heβs just moved to Las Vegas for his high profile job and after years of playing the field, heβs looking for a serious relationship. He wants to find a woman who likes him for who he is, not what he does. Meeting Eleanor on the dating app, heβs intrigued. Meeting her in real life while sheβs in town for a bachelorette weekend, he completely falls for her. Now heβs in way over his head.
Their chemistry is combustible. They canβt keep their hands off each other. But will Eleanor forgive him when she finds out who he really is?

Excerpt:
βYouβre just saying that.β
βNot really,β I tell her truthfully. βYouβre gorgeous.β
βMitch.β She draws my name out, like sheβs all embarrassed. βYou really think so?β
βOh, I know so.β I lean back, taking her in. βI canβt wait to meet you in person this weekend.β
βWait a minute. Youβre not some secret serial killer, are you?β She asks this with such seriousness, I start to laugh all over again.
βEven if I was, do you think Iβd tell you?β I grin, unable to contain it. βIβd keep it a secret, right?β
βTrue.β She smiles. Laughs a little. βItβs justβ¦my friends donβt want me to meet you by myself. They want to come with me.β
βSwear to God, Iβm not a serial killer, Eleanor,β I say solemnly, holding my hand up and making the peace sign. βScoutβs honor.β
βThatβs not what you do when you say scoutβs honor,β she says quickly. Little Miss Smartypants. βYou do your fingers like this.β She holds up her hand, the first three fingers up and pressed close together.
βHow do you know that? Were you a secret Boy Scout? Have a brother who was one?β
βI, um, dated a guy who was an Eagle Scout.β Her expression turns sheepish. βHe was really into the Boy Scouts.β
βWas that in high school?β
βUh. No. College.β
Iβm frowning. βCollege?β
βWell, he got his Eagle Scout status his senior year, but was still involved with the scouts through college. Andβbeyond.β She presses her hand against her forehead and briefly closes her eyes. βFine, I went out with him after he graduated college. I never really went to college. I went to beauty school.β She drops her hand, sending me a meaningful look.
βSo you went out with a guy who was still excited about being an Eagle Scoutβ¦and he was a grown man.β I start to laugh. βSounds fun.β
βIβve not had the greatest luck when it comes to dating guys,β she admits.
βOh yeah?β Iβm rubbing my chin again, contemplating her. Wondering what the hell is wrong with all the men in her life that they donβt know how to treat her.
And then I realize how lucky I am that they all blew it so now I have my chance.
βYeah. Iβm justβI donβt pick well. And I always get really awkward around guys.β She rolls her eyes. βI can say really dumb things. Or I just act all nervous and weird. I start to ramble.β
βLike now?β
βYes.β She laughs. βLike now. Iβm rambling. Iβm totally rambling and you donβt look bored, so I take that as a good sign.β
βI think the rambling thing is cute. I like your awkwardness.β
βWait until you see it in person.β
βI canβt wait to see you in person,β I tell her with a sly smile, making her blush. βI canβt wait to give you a hug. See what you smell like.β
βMitch.β Her cheeks look on fire.
βWhat? Iβm serious. You wear perfume?β
βOf course.β
βUse scented shampoo?β
βDuh. Iβm a hairstylist.β
βThen I canβt wait to see how all those scents mix and create the essence of you.β Oooh, that was a good one. I didnβt even mean to say that. It just spilled out of my mouth.
βAw, youβre being so sweet.β She sends me a heated glance. βKind of sexy.β
βYou think me talking about how you smell is sexy?β
βHonestly, Mitch? I think everything about you is sexy,β she says with a little sigh, right before she claps her hand over her mouth. βI probably shouldnβt have said that.β Her voice is muffled behind her palm.
βI love that you said that,β I say, warming up to this conversation big time. βI think youβre pretty fucking sexy too, Eleanor.β Hesitating, I wonder if I should tell her what I did in the shower.
Maybe not.
βHave you ever sexted with someone before?β she asks, sounding genuinely curious.
βI guess.β I shrug, not really wanting to answer her. Makes me feel like a slimy shit to admit that yes, I have. Lots of times. βSort of. Iβve made plenty of booty call messages. DTF, stuff like that.β
She frowns. βDTF?β
βDown to fuck.β
βOh.β Her eyes are wide. Her mouth is formed in this perfect O. βOh.β
βBack when I wasnβt big on relationships,β I add. βBut Iβve changed.β
βYou have?β
βYeah. Iβm looking for a special girl.β
βReally?β
βI want a long-term relationship.β
βItβs too bad youβre moving,β she says, sounding sad.
I donβt want to focus on that right now. I donβt even know if this girl is the one. She has great potential. But we need to meet in person first. Test it out.
βWeβll see each other this weekend,β I remind her.
βI know!β Her face brightens. βAnd Iβm excited.β
βSo am I, Eleanor.β
So am I.
