So I think my favorite part of Winter Renshaw’s romances is her ability to draw heroes who, at first glance, are so internal and cut off from the norm of society that you both love and hate them in equal measure. Take The Match, her most recent story. In The Match, at the outset of the story, Fabian, a world-class professional tennis player, is decidedly egotistical. His life obviously revolves around him, and he isn’t considerate in his treatment of his coach, his assistant, and anyone in his sphere. Enter Rossi, the heroine of The Match. Rossi is independent, intelligent, and driven, and she takes her role as a mother seriously. On meeting her, you, the reader, know that she will bring Fabian to his knees, helping him find a side of himself that he has never really considered. Over and over again, Winter Renshaw crafts these heroes and heroines, and it never gets old.
She’s smart in framing it through different contexts. For example, in The Match, Fabian is Rossi’s unwitting sperm donor. Wanting a child, Rossi decides to be artificially inseminated, and it’s Fabian’s sample that allows her to get pregnant. When an accidental letter is mailed to her six months after her daughter’s birth, she is confronted with including him in her daughter’s life. The context of this story allows Fabian to meet Rossi and decide if he wants more in his life. And that leads us beautifully to Renshaw’s message: that an abundant life isn’t one lived with everything money can buy; it’s found in relationships. Rossi challenges Fabian to live a BETTER life than he lived before.
Now, that isn’t necessarily a new romance message. It’s actually one that we read over and over again because romance is ultimately about relationships, but Renshaw’s story feels fresh. Even though she relies on her typical unapproachable hero who is challenged by a heroine who is insightful and independent, she keeps the genre and its tropes fresh. Fabian and Rossi have chemistry from their meeting, and the challenges that Renshaw crafts in the wake of their journey invest you emotionally into her characters. Together, Fabian and Rossi’s chemistry is steamy, and their story pulls you in until the last page.
If you love the idea of a sperm donor falling in love with its recipient, then you will ADORE Winter Renshaw’s The Match. Rossi and Fabian are THE MATCH you’ll want to read today.

In a word, Ava Ryan’s newest book, the second book of her Manhattan Billionaires series, His Forbidden Love, is long-suffering. Now, it would be simple to qualify this book with that word, but it would not do it justice. While her hero, Michael, and her heroine, Ally, are the epitome of slow-burn, their journey is one that I wish couples in real-life considered. The story begins with Michael, having returned to New York, going to a party where he hopes to run into Ally, a former intern under his instruction to who he had felt an attraction. Unfortunately, at the time, Michael was married, albeit it was an unhappy marriage. Four years later, he’s divorced and ready to investigate his attraction to and feelings for Ally, only to be met with her boyfriend, Bruce. It is here where he can choose to leave her alone and let her live her life, but there is something about her that he cannot let go of. Instead, he offers to hire her into his new practice for her fellowship. Faced with Michael, Ally begins to question her relationship with Bruce. She is once again drawn to Michael, and she, along with Michael, fights their feelings for each other. Until they simply cannot.
I think the reason I love Ryan’s His Forbidden Love is she makes Michael and Ally wait for each other. Michael does not cheat, and he does not readily leave his wife even though he knows there is something possibly more with Ally. Instead, he is fairly cruel to Ally denying any feeling, wanting to put all of his effort into his marriage. Similarly, even though Ally is drawn to Michael when she sees him again in New York, she too does not readily leave her boyfriend. Instead, Ryan crafts her to work through her relationship until she can no longer deny her feelings. It is then when Ally must make a decision. She never acts upon her feelings until she is free. It’s this aspect of the story that holds integrity that we don’t find much anymore in our own society. Michael and Ally are a slow-burn, waiting for the moment when they are ready for each other.
And, oftentimes, as is the case with a slow-burn romance, you find yourself frustrated with the “almost” of a relationship. His Forbidden Love doesn’t build that level of frustration. Ava Ryan has created a pace that feels reasonable for Michael and Ally.
Unlike some of her other heroes, Michael is seemingly closed off while also open. He has a level of integrity that makes you appreciate him as a character. The character you commiserate over is Ally. While Michael can be open, he is known as the Sphinx, in that he can close off his feelings. Ally becomes the recipient of his unkindness and your heart breaks for her quite a bit in this story.
This is fine, though, because the latter part of Ava Ryan’s story wastes no time in bringing Michael and Ally their happy ending. His Forbidden Love is currently my favorite story of Ava Ryan’s Manhattan Billionaire series. What’s not to love about some unrequited love and an eventual swoony ending.

If you love a little forbidden romance, then you want to read Fiona Cole’s Just for A Little While. I gobbled it in a single sitting, and I was not disappointed. If I had to characterize it, it’s a little forbidden in the sense the Willem, Cole’s hero, is the step-brother of the heroine’s father. While Arabella and Willem share no blood, there is still the potential messiness of family relationships. Additionally, Arabella and Willem have a nice age gap romance, further complicating their romantic feelings. Even more, initially, Arabella enrolls herself in Uncle Willem’s economics class, so Cole has thrown several daggers of forbidden at you which makes the story quite delicious if you love that trope as I do.
What I think I love the most is Willem’s characterization. Going into it, I made the assumption that Willem would be a strong, domineering alpha-male. Instead, Cole has crafted him to be a perfect match for her Arabella and kind of a softie. And while Arabella needs to work on maturing a bit more, it never feels as though they aren’t suited for each other. It’s clear from the start that Willem and Arabella should easily find a happily-ever-after trotting the globe, completely compatible in their coupling.
I always forget how much I love Fiona Cole’s forbidden romances. They are bite-sized nuggets of romance that tug at your heart-strings, move the butterflies in your stomach, and steam your glasses in such a short space. And Fiona Cole’s Just for a Little While is perfect for all of those things.

She’s off-limits. She’s also my obsession…
I can’t get Ally out of my head.
She was there four years ago, back when I was chief resident and she was my intern.
Back when I was married to someone else.
Somehow, I managed to resist this forbidden temptation.
But things change.
I’ve made my fortune.
I’m building a cutting-edge surgery practice and I need brilliant doctors like her.
Most importantly, I’m now divorced.
The more things change, the more they stay the same…
My head is still full of Ally.
Of the way she looks at me when she thinks I don’t notice.
Of her new boyfriend and how unworthy he is.
Of how his presence means she’s still forbidden.
Unless I’m in her head, too…

Ava Ryan is an author of sexy contemporary romance. Her favorite things, in no special order, are animals, her family, cookies, people with great senses of humor and love stories. Currently in her writer’s cave (ostensibly working hard on her next book while also checking Netflix every few hours to make sure she hasn’t missed a new true crime documentary show), she loves hearing from readers via her website or social media. Anyone can fall for their brother’s best friend…Tilly Logan fell for her brother’s enemy.
Football club lawyer, Santino Rossi is known in the locker room as the two-month chump. For years he’s been on a mission to find someone he can share his basil plant with and cure him of his former playboy ways.
Tilly Logan is a fiery, Scottish lass who didn’t bat an eye five years ago when a smoldering Italian pulled her into a nightclub bathroom. He was dark, dangerous, and exactly the good time Tilly was looking for—even if he worked for her over-protective brother’s team.
But a lot has changed and when Tilly returns to London five years later only to find herself trapped in an elevator with the smoldering Italian, it isn’t a happy reunion. Especially because her brother blames Santino for her high tailing it back to Scotland in the first place.
Tilly doesn’t want a replay of past mistakes and reconnecting with Santino is playing with fire.
But if they keep their relationship a secret, it could be worth the burn.

★★★★★ Replay was absolutely BRILLIANT and definitely one of the BEST and my FAVORITE romances from Amy Daws! Tilly and Santino were EVERYTHING, and their story was perfect in every way and went above and beyond my expectations.
The storyline and characters were utter perfection, and I loved them with all of my heart. The plot—especially some unexpected twists along the way—was mind-blowing and took me on an incredibly special and memorable journey. The characters were out of this world fantastic. Tilly, Santino, and the rest of the gang were a truly phenomenal group of characters that I couldn’t help but fall head over heels for. They provided endless laughs, smiles, and entertainment, and I couldn’t have loved it—and them—more.
Sexy, hilarious, angsty, emotional, and swoon-worthy, Replay was an absolute MUST READ spin-off standalone sports romance in the Harris Brothers world, and Tilly and Santino’s story is NOT to be missed! Super excited for what Amy Daws has in store next! -The Romance Bibliophile
“Sei bellissima stasera,” I growl, sliding my hands into her loose, straight locks as I press my lips to hers for a quick kiss. I drag the backs of my fingers down her pale cheek and add, “Beautiful.”
She grips my arms, her eyes wide and challenging. “How did I never know you spoke Italian?”
“I’m a man of mystery.” I dip my nose to the area below her ear, inhaling her intoxicating scent of honey and citrus. After spending the night making out with her a few days ago, I haven’t been able to stop craving her scent. She arches into my touch, and the motion causes my cock to stir inside my jeans. Pulling back, I stare at her lips. “And no one said I spoke good Italian. I might have just told you that you look like a beetroot.”
Her hands slide up the short sleeves of my shirt, her fingers biting into my biceps. “I love beetroots.”
“Nobody loves beetroots.” I laugh and tilt my head with a smug look. “Hai delle labbra così deliziose…Vorrei tanto baciarti.”
Her jaw drops. “What did you just say?”
Smiling, I lean in and whisper against her lips, “I said your lips are so delicious…I would really like to kiss you.”
Without pause, I fuse our mouths together and tease my tongue along her lush lips. She tastes minty, and that, coupled with her honey scent, has me deepening the kiss even further. Her hands move from my arms to my waist as she fists my T-shirt. When I thrust my tongue deep into her mouth, she inhales sharply, and her faint moan vibrates against my lips. Moving my hands down to her arse, I pull her into me so she can feel the effect she’s having on me.
“Okay, Sonny Corleone, no need to get cheeky.” She breaks our kiss, her face adorably flushed as she glances around nervously and finger combs her mussed locks. “We’re in public, after all.”
I shove my hands into my pockets. “It’s been a long time.”
“It’s been a few days.”
“Give or take five years.” I wink playfully, causing her to roll her eyes.

All I need is a little while and Professor Willem will be mine.
After a year of traveling abroad, my parents finally trap my free-spirit into college. Even worse, my dad’s former-stepbrother has a room with my name on it.
The only thing I remember about Uncle Willem is his boring button down shirts and quiet demeanor.
Except the rugged man who opens his home to me–filling out his tshirt better than any person should,–is not the man I remember. Standing here drooling over his easy dimpled smile, I wonder if I really looked at him at all.
Because Willem is anything but boring and, based on the way his eyes linger of my ripped jeans and thin shirt, he anything but bored by me.
Add in that he’s a professor at my college and my major went from ‘undecided’ to ‘him’. He tried to hold back, but I have other plans in mind.
One kiss. One touch. Each starts with a simple promise: just for a little while.

EXCERPT:
“Make love to me,” she murmurs, her eyes heavy-lidded and mouth parted. “Please.”
“And the tradeoff?” I ask as I sit up to yank off my suit jacket.
“You already saved me. It’s my turn to thank you.”
I don’t argue with that logic, ripping off my clothes in record speed. Once I’ve snatched away her dress and undergarments, I kiss my way down to her p*ssy. Her aroused scent makes my mouth water to taste her. It seems like eons since I’ve had my tongue on her here when in actuality, it’s only been a few days.
“Spread your legs and let me see how wet you are,” I command. “Playing the damsel in distress turns you on.”

Blurb:
Betraying the most powerful man in New York wasn’t something I ever envisioned when I first started playing games with Winston Constantine. But he’s engaged in far more dangerous games than ours, and his enemies are out for blood.
Winston has my heart, the Morellis have incriminating photos, and I’m left with nothing except three stepbrothers who want to hurt me and a future in doubt. I knew Winston wouldn’t be my prince charming, but that didn’t stop me from falling for him.
After all, the slippers fit, and I let myself believe I’d be dancing with Winston forever.
Until too much truth comes to light.
Until I realize instead of ruling the board, I was just a pawn.
In the end, I have only one question. When his game with me is over, will I be able to pretend as if the glass slipper wasn’t a perfect fit?
